A network of trail users.

From ancient redwoods to sandstone caves, from the Santa Cruz Mountains to the Southern Diablo Range, the Trail Center is your connection to outdoor recreation on the San Francisco Peninsula and South Bay Area.

The Trail Center is run by and for its volunteers and members.

The Trail Center and its volunteers give back to the land much needed care and maintenance of trails. Trail work is the perfect blend of community service, outdoor awareness, conservation, physical exercise and camaraderie set in places of natural beauty. You, too, can be part of this effort. Read on.

The Pescadero Marsh Audubon Trail (see photo) is located on the Pacific Coast near Pescadero, California. The Trail Center helps to maintain this trail and others located on California State Parks land. This is just one of our many Trail Project sites. For ongoing activities, check out the planned events below:

Support Our Work - Become a Member

If you're not already a Trail Center member, help us improve trails throughout the San Francisco Peninsula, Santa Cruz Mountains and South Bay Area, produce excellent trail and park locator maps, provide a wealth of trail-related information via our website, publications and email/phone trails reference services, provide great volunteer opportunities for supporting our area parks and trails.

Memberships begin at $25. New members joining at $50 and above may receive a complimentary map. See Membership Information for details.

The Trail Center Workday announcement and the Trail Center News & Events newsletter are sent out in advance of each trail work event (usually monthly), and at other times as needed. Both include detailed information on the upcoming trail work event. The newsletter also includes a schedule of future trail work events and selected park and trail news. Visiting the Trail Center Office

The Trail Center office is only occasionally staffed and we do not have regular office hours. Please e-mail us or call (650) 968-7065 if you have a question. If you are looking for maps, maps are available through Wilderness Press and through local bookstores and outdoor stores (see our Maps & Publications page for more details). The Trail Center no longer sells maps.
