Trail Repair at Santa Teresa County ParkFor 2006, we will be starting a new project repairing the Stiles Ranch Trail in Santa Teresa County Park. For more information about Santa Teresa County Park, see the Santa Teresa County Park info page. Location: Santa Teresa County Park - Stiles Ranch Trail Directions: From Interstate 280 in Santa Clara County, take CA 85 south (toward Gilroy). After about 12 miles, exit at Almaden Expressway, stay in the ramp's right lane, make the first left, then the next right onto Almaden Expressway. Drive about 5 miles to the end of Almaden Expressway, turn right onto Harry, and almost immediately, turn left onto McKean. Drive south on McKean 1.2 miles, and turn left onto Fortini Road. Drive northeast on Fortini 0.6 mile to a T junction, then turn left onto San Vicente and continue less than 0.1 mile to the trailhead on the right. The trailhead that we are working out of is not "in" the park, so there is no entrance fee required. Agency: Santa Clara County Parks - Greg Bringleson, Park Maintenance Leader Supervisor: Dave Croker Project Lead: Dave Croker Additional Information: Bring lunch, two bottles of water and some energy snacks. If you have work gloves, bring those along as well. Wear closed-toe shoes. Boots and long sleeve shirts are recommended, but not essential. As with most peninsula parks, exposure to some poison oak is possible, although every effort is made to minimize contact. The Trail Center will supply all tools and gloves. |
