Bean Hollow State Beach
The beach features fishing, picnicking and beachcombing. Visitors can explore tide pools with anemones, crab, sea urchins and other marine inhabitants. The beach also has a self-guided nature trail.
Location: Pescadero, California - Bean Hollow Nature Trail
Directions: On the San Mateo Coast, Bean Hollow is 17.5 miles south of Half Moon Bay and three miles south of Pescadero on Highway One.
Agency: California State Parks, Dave Augustine, Supervising Ranger - (650) 879-2170
Supervisor: Hank Magnuski
Project Lead: Hank Magnuski , 650-714-2409
Additional Information: Participants should bring water, sunscreen, sturdy shoes, lunch and normal precautions against poison oak exposure (work gloves, long sleeved shirts and long pants). The Trail Center provides tools, training, gloves, and refreshments after the workday.
- Saturday, September 13, 2008 - Bean Hollow Nature Trail
Activities: Part of the trail we worked on last year fell into the ocean, so we're going back to Bean Hollow to do some needed reroutes and general maintenance.
New signs for the nature trail will arrive sometime this year, and the supervising ranger would like to prep the trail for their arrival. Also, in the central section of the trail is a spot where wheelchair access can be facilitated with some work.
Pebble Beach is a roadside park along Highway 1 located about midway between Pigeon Point and Pescadero in San Mateo County. It is just north of Bean Hollow.
Meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Pebble Beach parking lot. This parking lot is 1.5 miles south of Pescadero Road.
