Bay Area Ridge TrailThe Bay Area Ridge Trail ultimately will be a 500+ mile trail encircling the San Francisco Bay along the ridge tops, open to hikers, equestrians, mountain bicyclists, and outdoor enthusiasts of all types. So far over 300 miles of trail has been dedicated for use by Bay Area residents, now and forever. For this project we will be working on the Skyline Trail in Sanborn County Park. This lushly wooded park of over 3,688 acres, is nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountains between Saratoga and Skyline Boulevard. This mountain park of redwoods and tan bark oak, offers hiking, camping, RV camping and picnicking opportunities year round. A map of the park is available on the SCC County website. Location: Sanborn/Skyline - Bay Area Ridge Trail Directions: From the junction of California State Routes 9 and 35 (Skyline Blvd.) head southeast approximately 2.67 miles to the parking lot by Indian Rock where we will assemble. Indian Rock is across the highway from the Castle Rock State Park entrance. Parking will be somewhat restricted, so carpool with your friends if you are able to do so. The Trail Center provides tools, training, gloves, and refreshments after the workday.
