Quarry Park

This 40-acre park is located in the community of El Granada, 25 miles south of San Francisco, and just 4 miles north of Half Moon Bay's historic district.

Quarry Park offers a play area for tots (ages 1-5) and youth (ages 5-12), ten picnic tables with four double barbecues and one single barbecue, a community garden, a tree house, open grassy areas, a restroom, and a parking area. Dogs on leash are permitted on the trails of Quarry Park.

The Wicklow Property is a natural addition to Quarry Park in the quaint coastside community of El Granada. It includes 478 acres of grassy hillsides, coastal ridges, a massive eucalyptus forest and pine and cypress groves. There is a system of trails throughout the property that go right up from the playground, restroom and parking lot already present at Quarry Park. Trails meander through meadows, forests and the quarry floor, and lead to destinations like a cool, algae-covered lake and a raised boardwalk at the harbor view vista point. The Wicklow property (as well as the grassy fields adjacent to the playground at Quarry Park) is dog-friendly and even includes a dog station in the parking lot. This is a welcome policy for dog-loving coastside residents.

Saturday, April 16, 2016 - West Ridge Trail - Earth Day Event

Activities: Improve the single-track trail that leads up to the top of the hill on the west side. This is the only access to the top of the hill here. The bottom 2/3 is a steep, old road in the eucalyptus. The top 1/3 is single-track and in sections is steep, but it could be easily improved with a reroute. This is mostly in coyote coastal scrub and thin euc. Although this seems like a decent project--and the only one that could be potentially shovel-ready--it's a shame that the lower half of the trail would remain steep. At least the steep road is in good shape and not washing away like the single-track at the top. It leads to great views of Pillar Point, the harbor, and points north to Devil's Slide.
